Student Volunteer Program

The in person component of the 10th World Conference is scheduled in Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia from 26-30 September, 2023. To assist students in making the cost of the conference more affordable, SER offers a volunteer program to reduce the cost of conference registration. Currently, SER does not have a need for volunteers for the virtual component of SER2023.

If a student agrees to work 15 hours during the dates of the conference, SER will reduce the cost of registration by 50 percent. If a student agrees to work 30 hours during the dates of the conference, SER will reduce the cost of registration by 100 percent. SER will not cover the cost of additional activities at the conference such as field trips, training courses or guest attendance.

Priority will be given to current SER members who have an accepted presentation at the in-person component of the conference, speak additional languages, and are potentially available to assist conference organizers onsite 1-2 days leading up to the conference.

Volunteers will be asked to assist with check-in at conference registration, loading buses for field trips, providing access control at the conference location, supporting presentation rooms during the conference, assisting with Q&A sessions, and possible other tasks that arise throughout the conference.

Applications for the volunteer program are now closed. Notification of acceptance will be provided prior to 25 May. Please direct any questions to worldconference@ser.org.
